When to Use Which User-Experience Research Methods

Intercept Surveys

A common method for recruiting participants for internet surveys is sending an initial contact email with a direct link to the questionnaire. This strategy is highly effective when targeting a defined population whose members have known, regularly used email addresses, such as a university community. However, its major limitation is that for broader or less defined populations, researchers often find it difficult or impossible to obtain a comprehensive list of email addresses to serve as a valid sampling frame.
