In this case, "order of discourse" is synonymous with a field (as in a network of interconnection such as the political field) and refers to a socially structured articulation of discursive practices including discourses and genres. It is described as a system and a practice that changes depending on the genre and differentiation of genres in given situations leading to changing practices in different fields.
