Internalized Inaccessibility

Repeated exclusion teaches disabled people to anticipate rejection before it occurs. When spaces signal "you don't belong," the message is internalized, leading to self-exclusion. Real accessibility must address both physical barriers and the emotional withdrawal that exclusion causes.
