Paralympics

A top notch organization associated with the French Federation for Adapted Sport (FFSA) that unites athletes with intellectual disabilities or mental illness through basketball, football, swimming and/or table tennis. 

Ministry for Sports

Committee supports development of para sport while simultaneously advocating for social inclusion. They helped establish the inclusion of athletes with intellectual disabilities into Paralympic competitions on November 21st of 2009 and continue to ensure the success of para-athletes. 

International Paralympic Committee (IPC)

First held in Italy in 2016 for athletes with ID, whose disabilities specifically is Trisomy 21, or down syndrome. More than 500 athletes participated; the newly established organization is looking to continue the tradition and incorporate even more athletes and events.
