Case Study

Interpreting Production Efficiency Models

A manufacturing supervisor is reviewing three different production models, each represented by a quadratic equation. To determine how many times each model hits a specific efficiency target, the supervisor calculates the discriminant (b24acb^2 - 4ac). Based on the calculated discriminant values provided in the case study, identify the number of real-world solutions for each model and state the general rule used for each determination.
