Intraparietal Sulcus (IPS)
- LIP's counterpart in humans
- fMRI studies show that IPS activity increases when covert attention is directed toward a particular stimulus (Corbetta & Schulman, 1998)
- Transcranial magnetic stimulation studies show that "...interfering with the normal function of IPS through transcranial magnetic stimulation (see Chapter 2) makes it difficult for people to voluntarily shift their attention (Koch et al., 2005)" (Breedlove & Watson, 2017).
