Relation
Invermectin's Impact on other viruses
- In a study done on the zika virus, it was found that ivermectin was able to pass through the epithelial layer in the intestine when taken in the form of a pill (12 hours)
- Ivermectin partially inhibits the action of the NS1 protein and the functioning of IMPa-NLS in those with zika virus
- Ivermectin also prevents IMPa/B function in those with the dengue virus
- Effects of viral RNA was stopped due to ivermectin inhibiting NS3 helicase (found in those with west nile virus, yellow fever virus, and dengue virus)
- Ivermectin decreased the presence of the Hedra virus, Newcastle virus, and Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus substantially
- In the chikungunya virus, ivermectin got rid of luciferase signaling (responsible for virus replication)
