Jami's Synthesis of Transcendence (Tanzih) and Immanence (Tashbih) in Haft Awrang

In Section 4 of the Haft Awrang, Jami explores the theological dichotomy of tanzih (transcendence, demanded by the intellect) and tashbih (immanence/anthropomorphism, indicated by revelation). He cautions that an exclusive focus on tanzih leads to the negation of divine attributes, while an exclusive focus on tashbih reduces the Divine to physical dimensions. Instead, Jami asserts that spiritual and theological perfection lies in the 'degree of union' (مرتبه جمع), a balanced synthesis where the seeker recognizes God as both absolutely incomparable yet profoundly manifest through His attributes.
