Jon Kabat Zinn and MBSR

Jon Kabat-Zinn, the founding father of mindfulness-based stress reduction, developed a modern, scientific approach to mindfulness and meditation in the 1970s. He established the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where the program, initially named the Stress Reduction and Relaxation Program, later became known as mindfulness-based stress reduction. Kabat-Zinn aimed to create a secular and inclusive program that emphasized individualization and the universal capacity for mindfulness practice, making it accessible to people of all beliefs and backgrounds
