This happens when parts of two (or more) knowledge entities, like Wikipedia articles, YouTube videos, research articles, ..., are explaining the same topic. The entire knowledge entities are about different topics, but parts of their content is about the exact same topic.

The amount to which entities are duplicated affects their acceptability in online communities. Knowledge entities that are heavily duplicated (e.g. the same file as another knowledge entity) are nearly universally discouraged, while two or more similar entities covering the same topic in their own way but with overlapping information may be acceptable in some online communities.

There is a significant amount of information available across various mediums such as articles, books, websites, and videos, but many of them merely repeat the existing knowledge already available in other sources, and cover the same topic. This does not mean that the media is a 100% copy of another, but the topic of the two knowledge entities is the same.
