Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers and scientists alike have been studying the causes, transmission, and origin of the coronavirus. Due to such rapid dissemination of COVID-19 information and the unusually high rates of article retraction, concerns regarding the accuracy of data and results have been raised.

This formal process alerts the scientific community to serious problems with the original study.
