Lack of Enforcement Mechanism in the Paris Agreement

A key characteristic of the Paris Agreement is its lack of an enforcement mechanism. Even though most nations have submitted individual plans for emission reductions, there is no provision within the agreement to compel countries to comply with their stated commitments.
