Laplace Distribution

The Laplace distribution, also known as the double exponential distribution, is a probability distribution that allows us to place a sharp peak of probability mass at an arbitrary point μ\mu. Its probability density function is given by the formula: Laplace(x;μ,γ)=12γexp(xμγ)\text{Laplace}(x; \mu, \gamma) = \frac{1}{2 \gamma} \exp\left( - \frac{\lvert x - \mu \rvert}{\gamma} \right).
