Using large high resolution displays allow an increased amount of information able to be displayed at once.  Physical and virtual space merge to create a meaningful relationship of a virtual workspace that has spatial relationships with real meaning.

This usally one monitor in use with the computer.  This results in restrictions of space that is abled to worked with on the computer screen.  

A typlical 17” monitor
- Covers only about 10% of the visual field
- 1% of what can be seen by moving the head. 

This forces the user to make context switches on new information that are explicit by placing a new window over another. Reducing the ability to make comparisons and expending mental resources on managing information on the screen.
