Left Inferior Prefrontal Cortex Activation in Semantic Tasks

Brain scans, such as positron emission tomography (PET), reveal that semantic tasks (which process meaning) produce much more activation in the left inferior prefrontal cortex than perceptual tasks (which process visual features).
