Multiple surveys conducted in America, Europe, and Japan asked participants of their political views. They ultimately found that those who identified as progressive were more likely to have depression. This held true for clinical depression and self-rated depression. However, seeing as there are many different perspectives of what "progressive" means, this trend may vary depending on more specific belief systems.
