Until 2012, no significant academic study had been done to determine the quality of life for those with MdDS (Mal de debarquement). Nearly all of the literature conducted previously on MdDS (Mal de debarquement) is concerned with diagnosis, symptoms, and theoretical cause. In other words, the social element and the employment of the social model in reference to MdDS (Mal de debarquement) is seriously lacking in the literature.
