Thick Temporality is defined by Walker as understanding how the past and future are emeshed in a matter through what we imagine to be the present.

Loewen Walker posts that just as we cannot except to just keep running after we have sprained our ankle we also can't just expect for everything to feel better and for histories of violence and harm to be erased when we win something - for instance homophobia and its past and present violences were not erased when same sex marriage was legalized.
