The Chronicles of Prydain is a five-book fantasy series by Lloyd Alexander, that is based on Wales and Welsh mythology. It follows the adventures of Taran, who starts out as a lowly Assistant Pig-Keeper, but through the help and guidance of friends and mentors, ultimately achieves a great destiny by defeating Arawn Death-Lord.
