MC21-A (Bromophene)

MC21-A, also known as bromophene, is a new antibiotic derived from a marine bacterium. Its effectiveness against resistant bacterial strains like Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) can be demonstrated using fluorescence microscopy with the dye SYTOX Green, which stains the bacteria green once the antibiotic successfully damages their cell membranes.
