In the case of DAS of the 38 people interviewed 12 were people of color, 4 were trans or non-binary, 28 were women, 9 were on visas, were immigrants or worked outside the US, 3 were classified as non-teaching staff, and 6 of the participants left academia after their interviews with DAS.

Price notes that in order to determine who to select for diversity sampling, researchers need to ask which participants are underrepresented and unheard in research.
