The researchers conducted a retrospective medical record review of pediatric patients admitted to 46 participating North American PICUs with confirmed COVID-19 infection between March 14 and April 3, 2020, and with outcome follow-up through April 10, 2020.

Patient data included:

• preexisting comorbidities
• mode of presentation

Clinical course data included:

• presence/nature of organ failure
• maximum respiratory support
• adjunctive respiratory support
• additional organ support

Clinical outcomes at the time of data closure included:

• survival
• duration of ventilation
• lengths of ICU and hospital stay
