Methods of the Efficacy of Hydroxychloroquine in Patients with COVID-19 Study
- 62 patients admitted to Renmin Hospital in Wuhan, China from Feb 4 to Feb 28 2020 that were medically confirmed to have a diagnosis of COVID-19 were randomly selected (with informed consent) for participation in this clinical trial
- Both patients in. the control and experimental group received current standard protocol for COVID-19 treatment: oxygen therapy, antiviral agents, antibacterial agents, and immunoglobulin, with or without corticosteroids
- The experimental group patients additionally received a treatment of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) 400mg oral tablets daily for 5 days
- This was a double-blind study
