Mu'awiya's Plea for Divine Refuge from Iblis in the Masnavi

In Section 68 of Book Two of the Masnavi, Mu'awiya realizes that his own intellectual arguments are insufficient to counter the sophisticated deceit of Iblis. He acknowledges that human faculties alone cannot defeat demonic temptation, leading him to lament to God and seek divine refuge. This illustrates Rumi's broader theological point that spiritual seekers must rely on divine assistance and grace, rather than their own intellect or reasoning, to overcome the subtle traps of the ego and Satan.
