Neonatal meningitis is a type of meningitis that affects babies up to three months of age. This infection can be caused by *Streptococcus agalactiae* transmission in the vagina during birth. Later onset neonatal meningitis occurs 1 week to 3 months of age as well and the source of infection is unknown.
