Newborn Sensory Response

A one-week-old infant is crying. A caregiver picks up the infant, holds them closely against their chest, and begins to hum a soft melody. The infant stops crying, turns their head towards the caregiver's face, and seems to relax. Analyze this scenario by identifying at least three distinct sensory capacities the infant is using and explain how each contributes to the change in the infant's state from distressed to calm.
