  • Schizophrenia research has predomi­nantly focused on nonsocial cognition (also referred to as neurocognition).
  • Nonsocial cognition includes those commonly considered mental abilities, including speed of processing, verbal learning and memory, visuospatial learning and memory, working memory, attention/vigilance, and reasoning and problem solving.
