Measures:
- news sharing: likelihood of relaying news or sharing on social media; used a scale of 1 to 7 (very unlikely to very likely)
- media skepticism: feeling of mistrust toward media; used a scale of 1 to 7 (strongly disagree to strongly agree) on statements about media being biased, having their own agenda, etc
Control measures:
- online news involvement: perceived relevance and importance of news to users' lives; used a scale of 1 to 7 (strongly disagree to strongly agree)
- prior news sharing experience: the frequency in which a user shares news on social media (1=less than once per month, 2=once per month, 3=once per week, 4=more than once per week, 5=once per day, 6=more than once per day)
