Object Relations Theory 

Gender schema theorists explore the cognitive organization of gender, arguing that children learn how their societies/cultures define gender roles and subsequently internalize this information into gender schemas. These theorists thus argue that children's perceptions of gender is an interaction between these schemas and their experiences. Once they have experienced their environment, children incorporate their own beliefs into the gender schema and make assumptions about the typical roles for their own gender.

Gender Schema Theory 

The social role theory suggests that sexual division of work and societal expectations based on gender stereotypes produce gender roles. Gender roles strongly influence behavior when culture and society follow gender stereotypes and form gender expectations based on those stereotypes. 

Social Role Theory 

Evoluntionary theory of gender suggests that gender differences exist as they enable men and women perform particular roles in the past. This means that the role differences in current society are a product of biological evolution than acquired through socialisation.
