OCD Symptom Dimension: Gender
Since OCD might be more common in adult women than men, it's possible that common symptoms are influenced by these gender differences, though no study has specifically tested this idea. One recent study actually found no gender differences in symptom types among adults in the community. However, that study did find that the connections between different types of symptoms were stronger in men than women. The researchers think this might mean that men tend to have many different types of symptoms at once, while women might have just one or two specific types.
