Online Learning: A Panacea in the Time of COVID-19 Crisis
There is the idea that, in times of catastrophe, when typical systems and institutions are impacted and unavailable for people, using technology can solve the issue of unavailability, such as the inability to conduct in-person classes because of the dangers of disease. There is research about the advantages and disadvantages of online learning which also goes into detail about how effective online learning can be in a time where the pandemic threatens to eradicate typical educational approaches. It describes not only the rise of technology that helps combat the problems of face-to-face interaction through digital communication but the history in which technology has helped people receive an education despite disasters such as earthquakes and other natural disasters. The argument is that online learning is not only an advantageous tool but a necessity in a time when normal education is not possible.
