Optimizing Learning Through Sleep

A college student is simultaneously preparing for two final exams. One is a history exam requiring memorization of many dates and facts. The other is a practical music exam where they must perform a new, complex piece on the piano from memory. The student is finding it difficult to balance their study and practice time with getting enough rest and is considering pulling an 'all-nighter' before the exams. Based on the understanding of how different sleep stages contribute to stabilizing memories, what advice would you give this student to maximize their learning for both exams, and why?
