Origin of Humanitarian Work Psychology
The field of Humanitarian Work Psychology (HWP) originated in 2009 from a conference meeting of a small group of Industrial-Organizational psychologists who shared a goal of helping underserved people. This led to the formal creation of the HWP group in 2012, which has since grown to about 300 members globally and continues to expand.
