To control SARS-CoV-2 transmission, Israel fully closed its educational facilities on March 13, 2020. A phased reopening began on May 3, and all schools reopened on May 17 with strict public health requirements, including facemask usage and social distancing. On May 26, a significant COVID-19 outbreak emerged at the Gymnasia Rehavia high school, resulting in over 130 cases among students and staff. Similar post-reopening spikes were also observed in South Korea and France.
