Overlapping Nature of Obsessions in OCD

The obsessive symptoms experienced by an individual with OCD are not mutually exclusive; they can overlap. This means a person might simultaneously experience obsessions from different thematic categories, such as having both contamination-related obsessions and perfectionistic obsessions.
