Ownership Structure and Economic Side-Effects

A new, popular nightclub operates next to an established luxury hotel. The nightclub owner is unwilling to reduce the music volume because it would hurt their business. Using the principles of economic decision-making, analyze why the separate ownership of these two businesses is the core reason this negative side-effect on the hotel is not resolved.
