Peptide Bond Formation Between Alanines

During peptide bond formation between two alanine molecules, the hydroxyl (OH-\text{OH}) group from the carboxylic acid of one alanine and the hydrogen (H-\text{H}) from the amino (NH2-\text{NH}_2) group of the other alanine react to release a water molecule. This dehydration synthesis process links the two alanine molecules via a peptide bond.
