Petri Dish

A Petri dish is a flat-lidded dish, typically 10{}10-11{}11 centimeters (cm) in diameter and 1{}1-1.5{}1.5 cm high, made out of either plastic or glass. In a microbiology lab, Petri dishes are used to hold growth media for cultivating microorganisms.
