President Biden in late May 2021 signed into law titled "COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act" bill that allocates more government resources into protect Asian-Americans. A new position was created in the Justice Department specifically for this topic. It also directs the Justice Department and Health and Human Services to work with community-based organizations to issue guidance raising awareness of hate crimes during the pandemic. This would require the attorney general to issue guidance to work with state and local law enforcement agencies to establish online reporting of them.
