Predicting Treatment Response in Social Anxiety Disorder from Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging: The Amygdala and Other Limbic Areas.

Showing patients with social anxiety disorder face images during an fMRI suggested that even though the amygdala and the other limbic brain areas are typically known to have effects on social anxiety disorder in the brain, they did not show brain activations that allowed for the prediction of the outcome of cognitive behavioral therapy.
