Predicting Treatment Response in Social Anxiety Disorder from Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Functional Brain Responses to Face Images.
The finding of the study indicates that the social nature of the face images that were shown to social anxiety disorder patients influenced their brain activation to the point where it allowed researchers to predict treatment outcomes while images of scenes did not. The results remain significant even after controlling for numerous possibly relevant factors.
