Predictors of Psychosis Development in Prodromal Individuals

Among individuals showing prodromal symptoms, several factors predict a greater likelihood of developing a psychotic disorder: genetic risk (a family history of psychosis), recent deterioration in functioning, high levels of unusual thought content, high levels of suspicion or paranoia, poor social functioning, and a history of substance abuse (Fusar-Poli et al., 2013).
