Premenstrual Symptoms of the Luteal Phase

As estrogen and progesterone fall sharply in the final days of the luteal phase, before menses begins, this decline is associated with premenstrual mood changes (increased anxiety and depressive symptoms) and physical symptoms (cramps, headaches, acne).
