Preventative Measures for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Based on extensive research, several key recommendations are advised to parents to protect their infants from SIDS. These measures include placing infants on their backs to sleep, keeping cribs clear of items that could cause suffocation such as blankets, pillows, and padded bumpers, and not placing caps on an infant's head during sleep to prevent overheating. Furthermore, it is strongly recommended that household members refrain from smoking in the home.
