Price-Taking Behavior in Agricultural Markets

A single tomato farmer operates in a large regional market with hundreds of other tomato farmers. All farmers grow a similar variety of tomato that meets a standard quality grade. Explain why this individual farmer has very little power to set a price for their tomatoes that is significantly higher than the prevailing market price.
