Proposing a Policy to Further Reduce Income Inequality

In 2020, the Netherlands had a Gini coefficient for market income of 0.40. Through taxes and transfers, the government reduced this to a disposable income Gini coefficient of 0.31. Propose one specific, new government policy (either a tax or a transfer program) that could potentially lower the disposable income Gini coefficient even further. Describe how your proposed policy would work and explain the mechanism through which it would lead to a more equal distribution of disposable income.
