Psychological benefits of object attachment

Some studies suggest there are positive effects on the individual of object attachment and have demonstrated that adolescents with prolonged object attachments were more self-confident, optimistic, easy-going, empathetic, and autonomous in relations to peers without object attachment. In addition, further research has indicated that pathologically disturbed adolescents experience benefits from having an AO, including resolving separation issues and facilitating the development of one’s sense of self.
