PTSD Prevalence in Corrections Officers

Corrections officers are an occupational group with a high prevalence of PTSD. One study found that 27% of officers reported PTSD symptoms in the past month, with higher rates in males (31%) than females (22%). Another study revealed that 53.4% of jail correctional officers screened positive for PTSD.
