PVEST, Stress, and Teacher Expectations

Research by Spencer, Dupree, and Hartmann (1997) found that for African American adolescent boys, more stress predicted a less negative attitude toward learning. This possibly resulted from focusing on the school environment instead of personal issues, alongside the perception that teachers had positive expectations of them.
