Race as a Biological Construct
When focusing strictly on biology, race is considered a weak construct. Following the sequencing of the human genome, scientists argued that race is not a useful variable in genetic research. Consequently, racial categories are largely irrelevant for studying genetic diversity in humans, and their continued use represents a potential source of confusion and harm.
